Good Hemorrhoid TreatmentsIf you were to head over to Google right now and look up ‘hemorrhoid treatments’ or ‘hemorrhoid cures’ you’d be bombarded with tons and tons of different answers as to the ‘best cure out there’.

Of course, not all of these answers could be the ‘best’ cure, seeing as only one cure can really be the best one out of all the others. So how do you know which is best? How do you choose what you should be using?

==>>Find out more information on a natural remedy for hemorrhoids!

Here’s the one thing that you need to remember always when it comes to hemorrhoid treatments: There is no ‘one size fits all’ answer.

Mainly, the reason why there are so many cures out there that can all claim to be the ‘best’ is because what works for one person may not work for another. So while a certain treatment may work wonders for most people, it may fall flat on its face when you actually try it.

Don’t be alarmed though. Sure, this does mean that you’re not just going to be able to choose a hemorrhoid treatment and have the security of knowing that it is 100% guaranteed to work — but the fact that there are so many options out there gives you a wealth of different treatments to try… and chances are, at least one will work for you.

Make no mistake, it is going to take some effort on your part to locate that one ideal hemorrhoid treatment that is able to rid you of your problem.

Then again, considering the fact that the alternative is to simply continue to suffer with hemorrhoids… well, you should have more than enough motivation to want to make the effort, right?

Basically, the name of the game is trial and error. What you’re going to need to do is experiment with various treatments until you find what works.

Defeat Hemorrhoids Naturally

Be sure to keep track of what you’ve tried, and what you intend to try next, so that you’re able to go about this in as orderly a fashion as possible. Try everything that you can, from conventional treatments right on to herbal and traditional treatments.

In fact, a good starting point would be to try out some lifestyle changes that have been known to be immensely effective.

So long as you keep going at it, you’re bound to find a cure for your hemorrhoids. Don’t give up, and certainly don’t despair — with so many treatments out there, you really are an odds on favorite to find a cure.

One thing that you should do is this: Opt for the more ‘popular’ treatments first. Generally, these are the treatments that have worked for the most people, and therefore there is a high chance that they’ll work for you too.

If you somehow manage to exhaust options from amongst the ‘popular’ treatments, then and only then should you move on to the others.

Good luck finding the right hemorrhoid treatment for you to use!

How to Find a Long-Term Hemorrhoids Cure

Chronic hemorrhoids are more often than not an indication that a lifestyle adjustment is overdue.  A long-term hemorrhoids cure can be as simple as making a few changes in daily practices.  Habits and routines that have become ingrained may need to be reevaluated to prevent recurring hemorrhoids and avoid invasive surgery.

Hectic daily life often leads us to find quick and easy meal solutions.  Unfortunately, unhealthy choices are all too easy to make without much thought given to nutrition or digestive processes.

A healthy diet rich in fiber strengthens rectal veins and valves in and around the anus.  Fiber also acts as a natural stool softer, eliminating the need to strain in order to pass stools.

Fruits and vegetables, as well as grains, cereals, and whole-wheat pastas are excellent sources of natural fiber.  Consider using a fiber supplement.  Read the ‘Nutrition Facts’ label on food products: men should consume about 35 grams and women at least 22 grams of fiber each day.

Awareness of what one’s diet consists of is key in making the right changes in food choices.  Over-processed foods low in fiber and high in carbohydrates lead to dry, hard stools that cause constipation.

==>>Find out more information on a natural remedy for hemorrhoids!

Frequent constipation is a common cause of hemorrhoids due to straining and excessive pressure on rectal walls and veins.  Paradoxically, recurrent diarrhea also causes hemorrhoids:  regular consumption of fatty foods, excess alcohol or caffeine, and some medications create watery stools.

Daily discharge of diarrhea can damage the rectal veins from moving the bowels too frequently.  Drink at least six glasses of water per day to promote regularity and healthy bowel movements.

In addition to diet, regular exercise is essential to preventing hemorrhoids.  It is unnatural, and therefore unhealthy, for human beings to be sedentary.  A lifestyle of inactivity that commonly accompanies our desk jobs and such conveniences as cars, computers, and televisions creates ideal conditions for hemorrhoids.

Daily exercise that is age and health appropriate aids the natural movement of the digestive system, promotes healthy weight, and relieves anxiety that causes hypertension.

Good toilet practices are imperative to realizing a long-term hemorrhoids cure.  Always make time to move your bowels as soon as possible when the urge presents itself.  Once the stools pass from the colon to the rectum, they tend to try and harden.

Take the least amount of time needed to eliminate. Don’t use the bathroom as a library. Prompt elimination reduces straining.

Wipe cleanly and completely after each bowel movement. Moisture and feces consistently left behind are conducive to hemorrhoids.  Shower or bathe daily to remove dirt and perspiration.

Self-care and a healthy lifestyle are usually sufficient to attain a long-term hemorrhoids cure.  Only in very few cases is surgery necessary for a cure.  Hemorrhoids that refuse to go away despite your best efforts should be attended to by a physician.

How to Take Care of HemorrhoidsHemorrhoids, or commonly known as piles, form when the rectal or anal blood veins are inflamed due to a tension caused by varied circumstances such as prolonged sitting. Hemorrhoids can often cause swelling, extreme pain, and bleeding.

There are two common kinds of hemorrhoids: internal and external. The difference lies in the location of the hemorrhoids. However, they both have similar symptoms such as bleeding.

If you are experiencing discomfort from any kind of hemorrhoid you can do the following measures to ease your pain:

1. Apply directly a cold pack on the hemorrhoid region to lessen the inflammation and the pain. The easiest method to do this is to ask a loved one to apply the cold compress as you are lying face down.

2. Before you use toilet paper, dampen it with water or baby oil. Baby wipes are also recommended as they are extra gentle for your sensitive skin.

3. Always clean the region well with lukewarm water many times every day. A bidet is very effective for this purpose.

4. As much as possible, do not sit or stand for long periods.

5. Take a hot bath several times a week. Do not take salt baths as they can cause irritation in the hemorrhoids. Also, avoid strong detergents in cleaning your anal area.

6. To help achieve smooth bowel movement, add fiber to your diet. Take fresh vegetables and fruits that are high in fiber. Legumes, beans, and whole grains are also highly recommended for fiber intake.

7. Add water consumption. Try to drink at least eight to ten glasses a day. This will smoothen your stool, allowing smooth passage.

8. Exercise every day. Do brisk walking or jogging at least 30 – 45 minutes, three to four times a week. This will help in the food absorption and make moving your bowels less painful.

9. Do not push hard during a bowel movement. It can cause extra strain to the hemorrhoids and can cause further damage.

10. Avoid lifting heavy objects. If it is unavoidable, use proper body posture and mechanics to prevent putting extra pressure and tension on the lower extremities especially the pelvic area.

11. Take over-the-counter drugs recommended to ease hemorrhoid pain. Those drugs that contain corticosteroids are effective in combating pain. However, you should check at least with the store pharmacist to be sure that the drug can help your condition. You should remember to take these drugs on the prescribed period as prolonged intake can cause inflammation or pockmarks in the anal lining.

12. In few cases, hemorrhoids need proper surgical treatment, either through sclerotheraphy, to reduce the size of the piles, or the rubber band ligation or clinically known as hemorrhoidectomy. Ask your physician to know more about other treatments.

13. Do not believe that rectal or anal bleeding is rooted mainly from hemorrhoids. It can be a sign of a serious health problem such as colon cancer. If you are experiencing hemorrhoid for a long time, never hesitate to consult your doctor for proper medical attention.

How to Care for Bleeding Hemorrhoids

Bleeding hemorrhoids are caused by the irritation of swollen hemorrhoidal veins and anal tissue. They can be external or internal.

Hemorrhoids, especially internal hemorrhoids, often go unnoticed until blood appears spotted on toilet paper in the stools after a bowel movement.

Too much pressure on the rectal and anal veins is the most common cause of bleeding hemorrhoids. Straining due to constipation, too much sitting, poor diet, obesity, pregnancy, and lack of exercise are the usual suspects that bring about hemorrhoids.

Bleeding results from inflammation of the veins and tissue in and around the anus. Bleeding hemorrhoids can be treated at home if they aren’t too severe. It’s important to treat a bleeding hemorrhoid as soon as it’s noticed to avoid enlargement and increased pain.

However, if there is heavy bleeding, severe pain, or if the hemorrhoid is prolapsed (protruding through the anus), a doctor should be seen for treatment.

Self-care and home remedies practiced regularly will usually relieve the symptoms of bleeding hemorrhoids. Creams, ointments, pads, and suppositories can be purchased over-the-counter to treat bleeding hemorrhoids.

Products containing corticosteroids act as a vasoconstrictor to reduce bleeding and itching. Witch hazel, petroleum jelly, or aloe vera applied directly with a cotton swab are also effective, soothing home remedies.

Stay away from spicy foods and increase fiber in the diet. Eat more fruits and vegetables and consider adding a fiber supplement.

Drink at least six glasses of water a day and avoid drinking alcohol, sodas, and other caffeinated beverages to promote regularity and healthy bowels.

Keeping the anal area dry and clean will reduce itching and irritation. Moistened toilet paper or towelettes make wiping after a bowel movement less painful; just be sure to gently pat the area dry after wiping.

Regular soaks in warm baths cleanse and soothe inflamed hemorrhoids. A hair dryer set on low can be used after bathing to avoid direct contact with the raw area. One hundred percent cotton undergarments will also promote dryness.

Though the area may itch, try not to scratch as this will exacerbate the bleeding and further inflame the hemorrhoid. Perfumed products and products containing alcohol, such as lotions, scented toilet paper, and body spray are irritants that should be avoided.

Wear loose, comfortable clothing that do not chafe the affected area. A doughnut-shaped foam pillow to make sitting easier can be bought where medical supplies are sold.

If bleeding hemorrhoids persist beyond a few days with home self-care, seek help from a physician who can present medical alternatives.

Hemorrhoid Surgery as a Last Resort

Hemorrhoids are nearly always a transient condition. However, if severe hemorrhoids persist or are recurrent in spite of good hygiene practices, home care remedies, a healthy diet, and regular exercise, hemorrhoid surgery as a last resort may be necessary for enduring relief.

Surgery, or a hemorrhoidectomy, is required in less than one percent of cases and should be considered only when all other treatments have failed.

Depending on the location and severity of the offending hemorrhoids, minimally invasive procedures can be performed with local anesthesia in a surgeon’s office or on an outpatient basis.

While still unpleasant and painful, the aftercare and recovery time associated with these procedures are significantly less than with major surgery. Less invasive techniques block the blood supply to the hemorrhoid causing it to die and slough off.

One such procedure is rubber band ligation (RBL), whereby a physician places a band around the base of the hemorrhoid, strangulating the blood flow. Similarly, stapling devices also interrupt circulation to hemorrhoids and tend to be less painful than RBL.

Laser coagulation and heat coagulation create a blockage by forming a clot in the blood vessel. Another method, sclerotherapy, uses a hardening solution injected into the hemorrhoid causing it to shrivel and eventually fall off.

Treatment with major surgery is necessary to remove large, severe, often prolapsed, internal hemorrhoids. The same risks and post-operative care, along with a longer recovery time, inherent with any major surgery can be expected.

This type of hemorrhoidectomy involves removal through surgical incisions made around the base of the hemorrhoid to excise it completely.

Defeat Hemorrhoids Naturally

Recovery time from a major hemorrhoidectomy is about 3 weeks. Bleeding is normal and antibiotics are often prescribed to prevent infection.

Ice packs may be used in addition to the prescribed and over-the counter medication to numb the pain from the incisions. Frequent soaks in warm sitz baths are recommended to ease discomfort and muscle spasms.

While treatment through major surgery is the most painful and difficult to recover from, it is also the treatment least likely to see a recurrence of hemorrhoids.

But because of its radical nature and lingering effects, surgery is impractical for most sufferers of hemorrhoids. Unless hemorrhoids are chronic and severe, treatment with surgery is more unpleasant and painful than the hemorrhoids themselves.

Following recovery from surgery, major or minor, your mind must be set on preventing a relapse of hemorrhoids. The conditions that caused the hemorrhoids in the first place must be changed and counteracted.

Healthy lifestyle elements, especially a diet rich in fiber, exercise, and good hygiene practices must be put into place to avoid relapse.

Mis-Information About The Cure And Treatment Of Hemorrhoids

Cure And Treatment Of HemorrhoidsThere’s a lot of mis-information about the cure and treatment of hemorrhoids. Some hemorrhoid remedies are not just ineffective, they can cause serious health problems. Advice from well-meaning hemorrhoid researchers should be followed with great caution.

Apart from being one of the most misspelled medical terms (from “hemroids” to “hemoroids” and dozens of variations in between), it is also one of the most embarrassing medical complaints.

Hemorrhoid treatments are among the most commonly shoplifted items from pharmacies simply because those suffering from this painful affliction find it too uncomfortable to ask for a product.

And I think this is also a contributing factor as to why so many myths prevail about how to cure hemorrhoids.

I have read just about everything that’s ever been written about hemorrhoids: external hemorrhoids, internal hemorrhoids, bleeding hemorrhoids, hemorrhoid surgery, hemorrhoid relief treatments.

I’ve heard all kinds of suggestions for how they can be cured. Unfortunately, most of these are ineffective and some of them are downright dangerous and irresponsible.

Many of these suggestions are even promoted in books, claiming to be written by researchers.

The fact is, hemorrhoids can be successfully cured with natural, non-surgical, non-drug treatments. But you need to know the correct treatments and how to use them.

There are a number of sufferers who have tried natural treatments, without success, and consequently believe they are doomed to a life of creams, suppositories, painkillers or possibly surgery. The last option can be excruciatingly painful, and is not a guarantee they won’t return.

Some hemorrhoid sufferers have experienced serious health problems from following unprofessional recommendations for natural products.

Hemorrhoids

Did you know that one of the herbs commonly recommended for treating hemorrhoids can contain heavy metals, including arsenic, and has been associated with kidney failure?

Another has been proven to reduce testosterone levels in men. It should be avoided if you are concerned about libido, impotence or infertility.

One particular commonly prescribed herb could increase your risk of colon cancer or hepatitis.

Yet another can make acne worse and decrease the body’s ability to absorb iron.

There are others but I’m sure you can see from this that it’s absolutely vital to make sure you are following educated advice.

I am surprised that these herbs are still being recommended, when there are much safer and more effective alternatives readily available. A popular hemorrhoid guide on the market today even suggests their use.

Just because a product is 100% natural, does not mean it is 100% safe. Natural herbal products can cause allergic reactions, they can react with certain medical conditions and they can interact with other drugs. These all have the potential to cause serious health complications.

This should not scare you from using natural treatments to cure your hemorrhoids. Thankfully, there are many supplements and herbs which have been subjected to rigorous testing. They have been proven to be both safe and highly effective in curing hemorrhoids.

If you have hemorrhoids and are serious about finding a natural and permanent cure, my best advice is to follow researched studies. Do not rely on advice collected from folklore and friends and former sufferers who claim to have found the cure.

Hemorrhoids are inflamed veins that are found around the lower rectum or anus. There are also external hemorrhoids which develop under the skin around the anus. Internal hemorrhoids are located in the lower rectum. Internal hemorrhoids can cause extreme discomfort because they often prolapsed or protrude through the anus.

One of the most common symptom of hemorrhoids that are located internally is blood in the stool and is typically accompanied by pain, discomfort and itching in the anal area.

internal and external hemorrhoidsAlthough hemorrhoids are not considered a serious medical condition or life threatening, they are uncomfortable. It is estimated that at more than 60% of people will suffer from hemorrhoids at some time in their lives.

There are millions of hemorrhoid sufferers who are seeking relief from the condition.

The following are the top seven treatments that have been proven to help relieve hemorrhoids:

1) Undergo a Haemorrhoidectomy:

A haemorrhoidectomy is a surgical procedure where the complete hemorrhoid is removed. This procedure is known to be a way to absolutely cure hemorrhoids but is considered a drastic action for relief. Although haemorrhoidectomies were a popular way of dealing with hemorrhoids in the past, it is invasive and requires recovery time.

2) Injection Sclerotherapy:

Sclerotherapy is an old procedure that is also used to treat spider and varicose veins. This is a very basic treatment and is virtually painless. A fine needle is used to inject a solution into the vein. This causes the vein to dry up and disappear.

3) Aloe Vera Gel:

Aloe Vera gel is considered one of the most effective home treatments for hemorrhoids. The aloe is applied topically to the hemorrhoid and pain is reduced almost immediately. Aloe Vera has anti-inflammatory properties and can also be ingested to assist in the relief of constipation; which often contributes to hemorrhoid suffering.

4) Consider Minor Lifestyle Changes

To help prevent and as well reduce your hemorrhoid systems, you might want to consider the following lifestyle changes:

  • Eat more high-fiber foods such as fruits, vegetables, nuts and whole grains.
  • Drink plenty of water every day.
  • Consider taking fiber supplements to help you have easier bowel movements.
  • Don’t strain when having a bowel movement as this can make the hemorrhoids worse.
  • Don’t stop yourself from having a bowel movement. Go when you have the urge.
  • Exercise. Even a 20 minute walk a day will help the situation.
  • Try to avoid sitting for long periods of time. If you need to sit for work, consider getting up and walking around, at least for 5 minutes every hour or so.

If you want to learn more about this, check out my review of Hemorrhoid No More here. It’s helped a lot of people cure their hemorrhoids for good.

5) Witch Hazel:

Witch Hazel is effective in alleviating itching caused by hemorrhoids. Witch Hazel is commonly applied with a cotton ball but there are also witch hazel sprays that are easy to use. The sprays often contain proanthocyanidins which are believed to strengthen the vein walls.

6) Venapro

Venapro is an over-the-counter medication, with anti-inflammatory properties, that was designed to work in conjunction with the natural healing mechanisms of the body. Venapro is effective for internal and external hemorrhoids.

7) Sitz Baths

Experts often recommend people with painful hemorrhoids to sit in warm water for around 15 minutes, several times a day. This is important to do after a bowel movement as it will relieve some of the discomfort. Add a little Epson salts to the water for more relief. You can get a sitz bath at your local pharmacy. It is a small bowl that fits over the toilet and offers a convenient way to soak and soothe the hemorrhoids. You can also sit in a regular bath.
